A lot of people like me, have office , which work perfectly on windows 7. How the change in Windows will affect this suite. Will it work? Until today, June 1, nobody have the answer to this simple question, neither Microsoft have said anything about it. If anyone accept the free upgrade could, potentially, need to buy a new office suite due to the lack of compatibility.

Was this reply helpful? I\’d rather save myself the headache, and not upgrade from what works fine for me at present, if there\’s any chance I will have a problem. I like to treat my computer like my car, I use it, if it breaks I get a mechanic, but that\’s not a good experience so far for me with computers.

By now, Microsoft should know whether earlier versions of Office will run on Windows 10 and should be able to say so with precision. Please answer with a clear yes or no or with what exceptions might exist. I don\’t want to upgrade just to find out that the program I have been using for years to track my mail, finances, documents, etc will no longer work on the new OS. Reinstalling the earlier Win version is not a short process.

Because I use large tables lines are essential to make them readable. So I reverted to 8. All worked ok. When I got Microsoft on the phone they said it was an Office fault! Funny how an Office fault comes and goes with which Windows is installed. Very unimpressed. In reply to Palcouk\’s post on June 7, I changed to Windows Office seemed to work ok – except – Neither Excel or Word would show any colours Excel would not print lines or boxes – but Word would. I will now stick to W7. It works and it works properly. The only issue is that you cannot find it in the Apps list. To use it you need go to the executable file, run it and then right-click the icon on the apps bar to pin it there.
